Other: Mr. McGinn is credited with helping formulate and develop the concept of structured settlements. He has spoken on the subject all across the nation and has written numerous articles published throughout the country. An eleven time speaker at Melvin Belli seminars held in conjunction with the Association of Trial Lawyers of America Annual Convention, Mr. McGinn is nationally recognized as an authority on the subject. Mr. McGinn has also written and spoken on the subject of drunk driving defense at numerous seminars and is a founding member and trustee of The National College of DUI Defense. Mr. McGinn is involved in numerous civic activities including: a former Council Bluffs City Councilman, served on the Human Rights Commission, Prisoner Rehabilitation Board, Iowa Association of the Deaf, and three time Micah House Fundraiser Co-Chair. Ed is a recipient of the Iowa Bar Association Community Service Award, Four State Regional Council on Civil Rights Achievement Award, Iowa Association of the Deaf Human Rights Award, Iowa Civil Rights Commission Outstanding Service Award and is a member of The Saint Albert's Hall of Fame. Ed recently was awarded the Alegent Health- Mercy Hospital Foundation Heritage Award for Business. Ed and his wife Mary Margaret attend Saint Patrick's Catholic Church in Council Bluffs. |
